May 17, 2008 This is my first post of 2008, I apologize, there just hasn't been a lot to write about. Nothing good anyway. I guess I could write about warmups, we've ran alot of warmups and spent a lot of time in the shop, but not a lot of time racing.
Anyway, this weekend was the 358/360 Jack Gunn Memorial race. Rain was again a factor. For warmups the racetrack had quite a bit of moisture and was a little rough. If you check out mylaps we weren't very quick. We made some changes for time trials and went out 25th in line. Duane had a pretty good first lap setting 14th fastest, out of 55 cars. The second lap he had an issue with the cushion in turns 1 and 2 so it was a little slower but both laps would have put us in the top 30 invert. We're scheduled to start 4th in the 4th heat when the race resumes in July. The rains came shortly after time trials and Selinsgrove did the right thing and sent us home.
February 1, 2008 Hello All, We've been working in the shop all winter to get things ready for the season. And while there I've been thinking about how our raceday help keeps things running. In that spirit I've posted several pit shots in the Gallery showing how much help it takes to run a sprint car weekly, on a normal night.
I wish I had pictures of the night we got crashed in a heat race, I believe it was the second to last 358 race. After the heat race we basically "built a car", I don't think there wasn't anything that wasn't bent. Without our raceday help there is no way we'd have made it back out for the consi, we were still finishing up things while pushing the car out for the consi. Duane finished 2nd in the consi with a car that was built in less than an hour.
November 17, 2007 I haven't updated the site recently (except for the forsale page) so I thought I should probably do that. We're well on our way to getting ready for 2008. Since Duane's wreck on the front stretch last year destroyed the Big Max we were in need of a new chassis. We received our new Mach-1 Chassis from Selinsgrove Speed and Fab and have begun to put it together. Plans are to attend the Selinsgrove Mall Show, hope to see everyone there.
October 11, 2007 I just posted a copy of the picture (above) of our Sprinter from the new 2008 Sprint Racing Calendar above. I ordered a copy of the calendar and just received it the other day. We usually pick up a copy of the calendar at the Atlantic City show but since we actually made it into this calendar we picked up a copy early. If you're a sprint car fan, and since you're reading this site you probably are, you should get a copy of the calendar, there are some really good pictures in it.
